About this scrapbook page: |
This is one of my favorite flowers here in the desert where flowers are scarce and cacti are plentiful for their flower bloomettes! When opening up early in the morning they almost resemble a rose. I have learned to appreciate color in the desert. Native Americans used peeled pads of these plants on wounds, applied the juice to warts, & drank pad tea for lung ailments. Dried seeds of devil’s-tongue cacti can be crushed or ground into flour & used in soup as a thickener. Thank you for C/V!

Love your very informative page, so well put together. It should be in a book on deserts. Thanks for taking so much time to explain this "flower", both in the scrap and "about" section.
