This is for the In Our Hearts challenge. In 1979 I had just turned 15 & was in a car accident rendering me a quadriplegic. I was in the hospital for a total of 13 months. My mom was sick off & on over a year but nothing was found. Finally, after exploratory surgery, Pancreatic Cancer was found. I only had 6 months @ the age of 16 to be with her till she died.

Dear Lori..your story broke my heart and I wish I could reach through and give you a long hug. You endured so much sadness at such a young age and I feel for you. Oh Lori. Thank you for sharing again a bit of your story and about your Mom. Challenges like this one are so good to help us remember yet sometimes hard because the memories can be painful. May you be held close in the sweet memories you have and strengthened by the courage you both had/have to journey through pain most of us will never imagine.
