This is for the In Our Hearts challenge. In 1979 I had just turned 15 & was in a car accident rendering me a quadriplegic. I was in the hospital for a total of 13 months. My mom was sick off & on over a year but nothing was found. Finally, after exploratory surgery, Pancreatic Cancer was found. I only had 6 months @ the age of 16 to be with her till she died.

* Photo - My Mother and me dressed up (I can see that my grandmother took this photo as it is in her house next door to ours. We may have been getting ready for church but I truly don't know. My parents never went to church in the years that I can remember & now I have lost everyone so unsure when or why. I have so many questions for so many of my closest relatives who have all passed on. :-(

Oh Lori. Thank you for sharing again a bit of your story and about your Mom. Challenges like this one are so good to help us remember yet sometimes hard because the memories can be painful. May you be held close in the sweet memories you have and strengthened by the courage you both had/have to journey through pain most of us will never imagine.
