About this scrapbook page: |
This is for the WHAT IS THIS THING? challenge. Of course I am asking you to guess what the object is in the lower right-hand corner. It should be pretty easy to guess so go for it! :-)

I'm so glad these weren't used in my day - what an uncomfortable looking implement of torture. Great challenge page Lori.

Yeah Beryl...Edwardian indeed!!! I wrote down the name of the guy who made the most famous birthing chair in 1700 or around there but now I can't find it! Will do so (find the guy's name) if I do. Birthing chairs have quite a history way back into the 1500s. Before that... when one will probably just on the ground or indoors on a wooden floor or a cement floor.

Yep... it is a birthing chair! There are some that are so far beyond more uncomfortable than this one but I thought this one would be the most appropriate because some of the other ones just look like benches. Further, I wanted to give a hint (with a photo) because when it is so hard to guess an item... it kind of spoils the fun. I found other things but this was fun. Great guesses friends!
