I hope this helps. If you have Photoshop usually it comes with smoke filters & all you have 2 do is create a filter smoke image in Photoshop as a transparent .png (any size). The bigger the better (4 better resolution I guess) & then add it 2 ur page. It could be behind the object or in front of the object. It depends on the scene/page you've created. But if u don't have then u can download/free.

Re to my Remembrance Day smoke effects: Well, I use Adobe Photoshop 7.0 smoke/fog filters or at times when I'm too lazy the fastest way to create smoke is use png clouds. Make sure you turn the white clouds to a bit darker colour & stretch it vertically to make it like a smoke passing through. At times u don't have to stretch it, 'cause some clouds r already long enough to make that smoke feel.
