The grass is always greener on the other side is a good guess. But what I say a lot is "Cut through the crap or whatever and tell me what you mean!" :-) But throwing a snake into the picture throws me off. Wait... just by me saying my last sentence I am now thinking "You are a snake in the grass." In other words, in English that means that you are not a good person. Those are my 2 guesses!
