This is the 'Keru' or NZ Wood Pigeon. These photos were taken by a friend of mine Victoria Clark in a tree in her back yard. The Keru loves the berries of the Karaka tree as seen at the top of the page. Interestingly Karaka berries are poisonous to humans and stock but the Keru is able to digest them. One for the 2 different frames challenge
