Found this fellow on Facebook a few months ago. Never seen such beautiful colours on a bird before so downloaded him for a rainy day. The Nicobar pigeon is a pigeon found on small islands and in coastal regions from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India, east through the Malay Archipelago, to the Solomons and Palau. This rare creature is the closest living connection to the Dodo bird. It is known for its colorful, iridescent plumage.

What gorgeous, nicely framed photo of this Nicobar Pigeon with such, bold, bright and beautiful colors not only for the Nicobar Pigeon but the pretty, beautifull blue colors (flowers, etc) to accent this bird! FANTASTIC layout for this challenge Mary!!! Great description of this bird also!
