About this scrapbook page: |
For the 'Time For Vintage" Challenge. Another page for my Family History book. I really enjoyed creating this one. I hated history in school, but now, learning about my families link to history - it's a different story altogether! The small card in the upper right is a handwritten card from a family Bible - another treasure from Ancestry.com!

The labels around the 2 names & their info is from 'MyFamily Genealogy Family Tree' Mini kit by Karie Pertier (I think - name is tiny!). Everything else is just grabbed from the net.

What an amazing page and incredible history to have. As we get older family history becomes quite fascinating. You are lucky to have this information and you have turned it into a wonderful page to treasure for future generations. Thank you so much for creating this for the challenge

I know what you mean, I hated history in school but began to love it after meeting my late, beloved husband who was in love with genealogy for 40 years as well as history in general. I enlarged this page to be able to read everything that was so interesting! You chose a wonderful font & worded everything perfectly. That is great that you got that small card from ancestry.com! Great vintage page!!

What a fantastic page and fascinating history. I was not aware of these "Filles a Marier" and can only imagine what drove them to endure the arduous and dangerous voyage across the sea in hopes of a better life.
