About this scrapbook page: |
Hope members in the UK remember this character. Row D. Scarecrow, owl, image and free choice. Worzel Gummage started off as a children's book from 1936 - 1963. He was made into a TV character in 1979-1981 in UK. It wasn't until 1987-1989 that NZ met him. Actor Jon Pertwee played Worzel and Una Stubbs was Aunt Sally. I loved the programmes. He was a walking talking scarecrow who made me laugh.

I have heard of this author but never learned about the stories or read them. The scarecrow sounds like a funny character! I often wonder how many people in other countries enjoyed what American grew up with like Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers, The Flintstones and so many others. In any case, this is such a charming, witty, fun and original page with great word art for this challenge Joce!!!
