This is the house I grew up in. On this block there are 2 occupied houses, not giving in to the decay and crime around them. On several of the burnt out, crumbling houses are paintings - art - not graffiti, but actual scenes that were put there with skill and thought - and with defiance and hope. If you live near a declining urban area, help people who are trying to reclaim their neighborhoods. And if you can’t, spread awareness of the situation to those who can.
