I did this for the various Halloween challenges. In college I was very in to stage makeup. One of my favorites was Lon Chaney Sr. as the Phantom of the Opera.
On a side-note. Halloween used to be my favorite holiday until I became a Christian. Now we observe Halloween just as a night to dress in non horrific costumes and go trick or treat.
