For the Poland challenge. It was the German invasion of Poland that started WW2. Poland was completely occupied by the Germans for more than 5 long years during which time the notorious concentration camps were established. In the early 1980s an unknown electrician called Lech Walesa championed the workers and won for them "Solidarity" which swept Poland.

This year disaster struck Poland when the aeroplane carrying the country's President, crashed, killing all on board. Background a blending of Polish Lace and a nighttime scene of Bydgoszcz. Photos and flag from the net.

Beautiful page and very interesting as well and love the background information too. I have polish in me and my Grandpa (may he rest in piece) was originally from Poland. He used to love to tell Polish jokes.
