For the Poland challenge.
It was the German invasion of Poland that started WW2. Poland was completely occupied by the Germans for more than 5 long years during which time the notorious concentration camps were established.
In the early 1980s an unknown electrician called Lech Walesa championed the workers and won for them "Solidarity" which swept Poland.

Beautiful page and very interesting as well and love the background information too. I have polish in me and my Grandpa (may he rest in piece) was originally from Poland. He used to love to tell Polish jokes.

Wonderful page!, I1m sure my daughter Anita aka Hollandgirl will love it. She made a tour trough Poland in her teenage years being a member of a dancegroup and they did performances in all the beautiful cities you show on your page. Thank you for posting in this challenge
