I always found it difficult to be happy. Yes, there would be times when laughter came easily, but these times could be measured in minutes. I loved being alone so I didn't have to fake smiles. I thought this was normal until a few years ago, luckily my doctor recognized the signs of depession. Now happiness can be measured in days and the old sadness measured in seconds. Looking back on all those years, it's scary how often I thought life was unbearable and I wondered about beckoning the reaper.
