Kimberley is the Capital of the Northern Province and world known for diamonds. The Big Hole is a huge open-pit mine (used from 1866 - 1914) and claimed to be the largest hole excavated by hand. The Hole is 463m wide and 240m deep and yielded 2,722kg of diamonds. FOR THE ROAD TRIP CHALLENGE.
