Born 18 Jan 1857 in Brimfield, Peoria County, Illinois, Sarah was the first of Holland & Ellen Eyre Catton's children born in the United States. In 1857 she married Benjamin Majors in Fairbury, Illinois and the next day, her sister Elsie married Andrew McClanahan in the same town. Fifteen years later, the Majors made the trek to Iowa where Sarah's aunt, my great grandmother, lived. The bottom picture is Sally with Elsie's daughter June, probably just before she moved west.
