I certainly don't look very happy in this picture, do I? This was taken in my aunt's yard in the late 1950's. Even though I don't look happy, I have many happy memories of this time in my childhood. It's hard to see him, but my father is sitting behind me in this photo. I love the way my sister Bonnie is hugging his leg. This was probably a Sunday afternoon after church. Our mother dressed us in cute dresses, didn't she?

I was probably trying really hard not to squint. In almost all of the pictures from this time in my childhood, I'm usually squinting. I think I would prefer squinting over this look though, huh?
