This is a great picture! I would recommend a few enhancements...minor... A. Drop shadow B. frame the picture to set it out from the background (People are hating on the background because it eats the picture. If you frame the picture with a white background the plaid background will seem less busy) C. The clip is unnecessary

D. The screws can be reduced in size. I feel like they are out of proportion with the page. They feel huge. E. I would use a handwriting font for the journaling so it looks like it was written. Also, I would place the 2008 tab somewhat under the month tag so they look like they are attached.

My 5 cents here; A more neutral background, and if the rusty screws were smaller you could carry that element through with a rusty sign for backdrop for you text. Rust metal goes well with your journaling :)

Great photo! - background paper is to busy use something solid. Take away the clip holder in the center its a eye-sore use a small paper clip or a straight pin would be a neater look. I would use a different embellishments something smaller for the month and date. Sorry, I am only telling you what I would do.
