bertie edward shaw, was my maternal grandfather. he was a sailor all his working life. he was taken pow and interred in germany during the war. he died as a result of his captivity before i was born. i am creating a series of pages to help me learn about who he was. what i have learnt has made me very proud - he was a true hero
