if he could reach her during an episode and if she has learned to follow him without question during an episode then loss is even harder, like losing a center, your connection to the world and others. but 2 things i've learned from miki which might help your friend. one is to ride it out, stop fighting like a drowning man or someone in a quicksand.

dearest rhoda, i'm sorry your friend lost her soulmate, i pray she doesn't become self-destructive. i also pray that she'd find that something she'd apply herself to, instinctively for many times re-channeling doesn't work which makes one more frustrated and angry with oneself. loss is particularly difficult for a bipolar, maybe because one is losing one's self all the time.:)
