About this scrapbook page: |
In a solar eclipse, the moon passes between the earth and sun-partially visible over a large portion of the Earth but the total eclipse can only be seen from the path of totality which is only about 100 miles wide. I was a child when i experienced it, it was awesome and unearthly and over too soon. In a full eclipse, it gets dark in the middle of the day, the temperature drops, the stars come out but the sun's glorious corona can still be seen behind the moon.

Until now, a solar eclipse bears a rather romantic symbolism to me, and these days it quite reminds me of MIki. -solar eclipse painting by Mickie Mueller -Photos on the left are from the net, actual photos of a solar eclipse in Austria in 1999. -I made the starry background; sun-moon-stars embellishments and wordart with Photoshop CS3 and its custom shapes and brushes and the Pegyptienne font. The other fonts used are Arial and Pristina.

Wonderful page, Kate!! On August 11, 1999 I travelled to Paris to see the total eclipse of the Sun. There one saw to 98 %, though it was a bit clouded, was impressive. 10+10
