I'm a High-Level Quadriplegic

When I say "high-level" it means that I am a Quadriplegic who was injured at the cervical level. This means that my spinal cord (I have a severe Spinal Cord Injury) was damaged somewhere between C3 & C7.
I only have a little bit of use of my right arm & I can lift my right wrist. My left arm and hand are pretty much useless. I cannot use any of my fingers and I can't feel them either.
I have no control over my bladder or bowels so I have a urinary catheter and a bowel regimen. I am dependent on a caregiver and/or nurse 99% of the time--statistically speaking. Thankfully I can feed myself but I have to be really careful because my neck and throat was injured badly and therefore I choke a lot on food.
I was in a car accident only 2 1/2 months after turning 15 years old in October of 1979 and was in the hospital for a total of 13 months without being able to come home. I am now 55 years old & it has been a little over 40 years.
My husband came across this site in 2006 and thought it was something that I could do completely independently ... and I can! Of course after I am put together (bathed and dressed & transferred into my power wheelchair each and every day) to get to a special computer on a special desk.
Thank you for reading this!
