About this scrapbook page: |
Platypus, one of only two egg laying mammals. The female lays eggs in a nest and the young latch onto the teats to grow. Anatomacaly the platypus has a lot in common with reptiles (as well as lay eggs) but is closer to being a mammal and warm blooded. When first discovered and the body bought back to England scientists believed they were the target of a hoax.
