What are tubes?

Tubes are not just straight forward elements or embellishments. I don't know the exact definition of tubes maybe someone else can be more concise but they are more than embellishments. Special designers have made them over the years. Some of these are - Kahlan, CentreBlog, Caroladiva, Mafairfouille, Ekaborg. I collected my tubes years ago. Maybe Googling these will find some. They vary in subject and presentation but are easy to work with.
