TA DA...New Kit
|
Yes, my latest kit is finished. It is called Shocking Chakra and has a bunch of goodies in it including a bead strand, three ribbons, seven papers I designed my self from scratch, and a signature chakra art embellishment, just to name a few. Take a look, get a little download going on and let me know what you think! Remember, I love to see your pages. You can post them in my freebies group!

Changes
|
I feel like I have come a long way since I started scrapping on-line. I think I have become more creative and more apt at using my photo editing software, paint.net. I can only hope that I get better as I go. I have attached to this blog my first three pages and my most recent three pages. What do you think? I also need to get cracking on my next fee kit! Any suggestions?

Photography
|
I am a huge fan of photography. I love to take pictures and look at pictures and change pictures and...well, you get the picture.
I came across this great website with so many talented photographers I have no idea which way to look first! I may, in the future, host a challenge which features the medium of these fine artists. Until then, enjoy the artwork!

Challenges I want to do
|
I would love to do the following challenges:
1. Not What it Seems: This challenge would entail using an image up-close so it's not clear what the item could be... 2. Body as Landscape: This would entail using extraction techniques to create a landscape from body parts. It can be whimsical or artistic.
What do you think What are your favorite challenges?

A little advice
|
In the Zen circle, we say 'This is it.' What you are experiencing in the present moment, this is what you are looking for. This is it. You don't have to look for it in another place, at another time. This is a very wonderful door of liberation. You have to put this into practice. It will relieve a lot of suffering.
Our civilization is not going in that direction. We are always looking for something outside of ourselves. We are always running to the future. We are not capable of recognizing that the conditions for our happiness are already there in the here and the now.
One of the easiest exercises is to take a piece of paper and sit down at the foot of a tree and write down the conditions of happiness that you have in this moment. Like 'I have eyes still in good condition.' That is a condition of happiness. You only need to open your eyes, and then a paradise of forms and colors are there for you. Your ears, if you listen, hear the songs of the birds, the wind in the trees. You can hear - it's a paradise of sound for you. You can hear the talking of children and other beloved people.
You have plenty of conditions to be happy in the here and the now, and yet you don't treasure them. You step on them, and you are looking for other conditions of happiness - like fame, like power, like sex, like wealth. And many who have plenty of these things suffer very deeply because they are not capable of being happy. So with a pencil you can write down some conditions of happiness that are available in the here and the now, and you will be surprised to see that two full pages are not enough for you to write down your happiness. You don't have to go anywhere else, or to the future, in order to be happy.

I don't understand challenges...
|
I work so hard on my challenge pages. I carefully pick details and try to create artful and interesting pages that are not too overwhelming to the eyes. I enter all sorts of different challenges and do all sorts of different style pages. However, I never win. Not only do I never win, I never even come close to winning. What is the secret? Sometimes I see awful pages win. Pages that have poorly taken pictures, bad color combinations, and embellished to the nines.) Pages I would never think would win. I know that everyone has their own taste and what one finds beautiful another finds repulsive. What's the deal?!? I want to know, is there some kind of key to winning votes? What is this community looking for in a scrap page?

Designer.
Scrapbooker.
Photographer.
Mother.
Lawyer.
Let me tell you a story. I have things to say, I have complaints, I have motives, and I have desires. Stop on in and see what I have to offer you today.
Perhaps you will find a tasty morsel that will make you think. Perhaps there will be an idea that will inspire you to do something great. Perhaps you will only be entertained. Nonetheless, you will find something. |
