About this scrapbook page: |
For your information. A bit of excitement here on Monday. This mountain, dormant for over 100 years, decided to erupt. Luckily not a major one although it is now being closely monitored. When I was teaching I took my class to this National Park very year for 13 years. We stayed for a week each time and I know these mountains very well. Some towns were covered with ash but luckily no boulders reached homes. We can see these from our back garden on a clear day - quite a sight when covered with snow.

Very glad we don't live close to this. I think it made a number of people very nervous for a time.

Amazing pics of the mountain Joce, so glad you avoided the ash fallout and that no-one was hurt. I imagine your former pupils were reminded by this event of your trips with them to see the mountains and the park. An informative and well scrapped page Joce, we heard about it on our news

Fanatastic page and what a great teacher to take the classes out there! Hopefully the mountain will settle down and not cause any more mischief. Great looking place!
