This is Satchmo. He was my best friend, my guardian, my playmate, my pillow. He was abused by his owners and ran away to our family's down the road. After returning him a dozen or so times, they told us if we didn't keep him, they'd shoot him for being a worthless guard dog. We kept him and he turned out to be the best dog we'd ever owned. I miss him greatly, even though we lost him over ten years ago. He rescued us just as much as we rescued him.
