Dog Breeds A-Z Project: German Shepherd

The German Shepherd is not one of my favorites, and they are a common breed, but one of my dear friends loves the breed and has worked with many and I promised a page of them for her. They are extremely intelligent, but if not trained to the highest discipline, with someone in the alpha role, they can be unpredictable. They are gorgeous dogs though!

OOOOPs! Sorry!! Terrified of these. Han my face badly bitten by one when I was five years old. Had to have it grafted. Left me terrified, which made me a sitting target for another mauling many years later. Have been known to run into the busy traffic to avoid these. I admire them from afar, as they are such magnificent looking beasts. But, not too close please!
