About this scrapbook page: |
The legend of Uirapuru is interesting. In Brazil, there was an Indian tribe, whose chief was loved by two beautiful girls. He chose to marry the one that shoot better. The loser cried so much. So, to console her, Tupã (God of the Indians) turned her into a bird and gave her a melodious singing. The Uirapuru is the holy bird of Amazonian. It has such a beautiful singing, so sweet, that the other birds shut, only to hear it. In fact his name means "bird that is not bird."
