This is my beautiful great-neice, Azzaryah Elaine-Michelle : ) (The Elaine is for me... my middle name : ) I recently got to hold her for the first time. The first time I met her she was 2 weeks old and only weighed around 2 1/2 lbs! She was 13 weeks premature and spent 5 months in NICU. She is now 14 months old and 15 lbs. She is such a sweety! She has a trache and a feeding tube but nothing stops her... she is such a doll!

Butterfly and Chef pictures taken by me and the sunglasses picture was taken by Heather, Azzaryah's Mommy. EDITED TO ADD: Azzaryah's Baby Sister Kamarrah was born at 4:00 am this morning (10/15/07). She weighs 3 lbs. 5.2 oz. and needs our prayers. She is 9 weeks and 1 day early.

My little preemie (Jackie) came home after 4 mos in NICU with a trach too. Once she got bigger (and her airway got bigger too), they were able to remove it. I see that Azzaryah has quite the expressive little face ... it's amazing how little ones (even THAT little) adapt and use their little faces to communicate when their voices can't. God bless Azzaryah and your whole family!
