About this scrapbook page: |
The purpose of this page actually started out for a very different reason. But after this morning's news, the purpose has changed & I am now simply dedicating this page to all those who have died serving their country & expecially to the 14 Americans killed today in helicopter accidents in Afghanistan - making it the deadliest day for the US since entering the fight. And later in the day, we loose yet another, a Canadian soldier!

Done in photofiltre. My heading isn't so hot once uploaded but not changing now. Kit used is Judy Martin's Lest We Forget kit. Information was obtained from various sources on the net & from our local news. I also credit Broody Hen as a source of part of my inpiration after reading her poem yesterday - a poem she wrote some 20 years ago - http://www.scrapbookflair.com/Broody_Hen/My_Poem_Rememberance_Day

Beautiful tribute page. I have never lost a loved one in war, but some were deeply affected by them.

What a beautiful page. And thankyou so much for your words regarding my own poetry. I cannot believe that after all the years since they were written, they are now being read. The Poppy is a recognised mark of our respect, and in no way approval or glorification of war. I pray that the day will come when there are no more wars, but the poppy should remain, for those who have died for us.
