One of the highlights of our trip to California a few years ago was Carmel by the Sea. These little 'Hansel & Gretel' cottages where tucked away up and down many of the tree lined lanes, as were many of the shops in the main Rd of the village. If you ever get a chance it is well worth a visit. For Val's Country Cottages challenge
