About this scrapbook page: |
I couldn't believe my eyes when I found this pic while looking for the challenge, this island is called the Ailsa Craig and I saw it many times while on holiday at my Grannys as a girl, sometimes called Paddys milestone as it is on the ferry route between Stranrear and Larne in Ireland on a clear day I used to wonder what was there, in the 1800's it was palgued with brown rats thought to have come from ships that were wrecked on the rocks,

the rats destroyed the bird life and the puffins disapeared. Scientists poisoned the rats in the early 1990's and now the birds are back, thank you for your time and comments x Pic of Ailsa Craig from old pictures.com and kit used is Laithas seaside harvest, puffin I extracted from the net
