Pikes Peak Pikes Peak - The majestic backdrop to Colorado Springs, Pikes Peak is beautiful to behold, and exciting to explore. Also known as "America's Mountain," Pikes Peak was named for U.S. Army Lieutenant Zebulon Montgomery Pike, who in 1806, led a tattered line of explorers in an attempt to climb the 14,110-foot mountain.
