About this scrapbook page: |
Like Mexico, the Philippines does not celebrate Halloween, instead we celebrate All Saints and All Souls Days on Nov. 1 & 2. Similarly, it is believed to be a happy celebration of life and death, when the spirits of dearly departed return to earth for a family feast. We don't have a La Catrina but the idea is interesting to me - would you like to have dinner with Catrina in your home? :) Done for Amazonia71's La Catrina challenge.
|
Design credits: |
Created with Photoshop CS, merging four (4) images to create this scrapbook: -Background is a painting by Jim Taylor. -sitting lady is a paintaing by Isaac Maimon. -The two images of the two dressed-up skeletons picked up from the web done by different artists based on Jose Guadalupe Posada's La Catrina, his most famous calavera (skull) depiction.
