About this scrapbook page: |
Well I just had to get in on the act didn't I? But no namby pamby easy air-breathing photography for me! No, I went underwater! This photo was taken from my friends deep sea submersible at the bottom of the Mariana Trench, 6.8 miles down. As you can see, there wasn't very much light, but it is just possible to discern a few rather scary looking squid and some seamonster kind of thing lurking in a hitherto unexplored underwater cavern. I was lucky to escape alive!

Photography by me using my trusty Minolta water and pressure resistant camera. Flash was employed but the darkness was just too intense for it to make much difference. It was also through the 18 inch thick glass of the submersible porthole, so you can understand why it had so little effect and MOST of the pic is rather dark. Page is framed in my usual boxy style by a rather fetching black marble effect frame created by Grandpa and the three fishy embellishments were designed by myself in PSP

A fantastic scientifically presented evidence of a NEW deep water species. As one can clearly see, it has only THREE rows of scales on the brow, which undoubtedly distinguish it from Ictiotantarus quadropecalintus. Congratulation, your evidence will change the modern science of deep see worms for ever!
