About this scrapbook page: |
I wrote this poem on July 14, 2005 while my wife was in the hospital pregnant with our first child. She was trying to pass a kidney stone and go into premature labor at the same time. While the doctor's worked on fixing these problems, she also developed sepsis/septocemia also known as blood poisoning.

(Continued from above, for some reason it wouldn't all fit) We spent almost an entire week in the hosptial. For the longest time they had no clue what was wrong or how to fix it and she just kept getting sicker and sicker. Luckily God heard and answered my prayers. I was so worried and very scared. I honestly thought I was going to lose them both. I'm very thankful that God answers prayers. Today both mother and baby are fine and well, with no problems or effects of the illness.

Sometimes we need to be able to reflect on the difficult times in our life to be able to know just how far we have come. My brother was such a bundle of emotions, but remained strong in his faith for his family. I am truly proud to be his big sis.

***There is one error found in the poem. Thanks to Denise,LSHS for letting me know and helping to point it out. The thrid to last line should read "They all hang in the balance, it's all on the line." The letter 'n' was mistakenly left out. Sometimes it's hard to see errors in your own writing. Thank you.*****

Thank you all for the wonderful comments! My wife was the real person of strength through this rough time. It was her body, that was put to the test, both physically and spiritually. She is my true soulmate and I thank God for her by my side.
