About this scrapbook page: |
Made for the "Our Wedding" challenge". This is the wedding photo of my lovely in-laws. They got married in the same year as our Queen, who was then still Princess Elizabeth. Mum obtained the pattern of the royal wedding dress and had her own made up to the same design. As it was shortly after WW2 material, was still in short supply but all the family pooled their clothing coupons so they could buy enough. Thanks for your views and kind comments on my pages folks, I really appreciate it.

What a wonderful wedding photo and heartwarming story Pat. My Mum and Dad married in 1947 and I recall my Mum telling us of a similar story in the making of her own wedding dress, cake etc. They had no choice other than to be resourceful back then, quite different from the tens of thousands spent these days! A gorgeous page, sweet memories for them xx
