About this scrapbook page: |
2 months after the first massive 7.1 earthquake in September, we ventured out into the southern part of our city, to finally see the destruction over that side of town. This was a stonemason’s business, where the neighboring building’s wall collapsed and fell into the building next door. Thankfully it was not long after 4am in the morning and no one was working in there.

I wasn't but my mother was. I was hoping she was alive but it was 50/50 if she was dead or alive. She walked down the worst street.

We were down in Christchurch in February of this year - saw the devastation in the CBD - can't describe the way we felt after seeing all the destruction. So glad you weren't in the worst part of town on the day.

OMG! I can't begin to imagine the horror that went through everyone's heart and mind! No matter how much we prepare for a disaster, we are never prepared mentally! Wonderful scrap of this historical event.
