About this scrapbook page: |
Becky and I went to Nashville a few weeks ago and attended the Grand Ole Opry. There was an artist named Matraca Berg, and she performed this song. It is the story of the loss of her Grandparent's dairy farm in Wisconsin. The lament is that it has become easier to make a living off the land by selling it, rather than working it. Nothing really special about this: I heard the song and liked the lyrics and melody, and decided to scrap it.

I took the three photos that make up the image: The cornfield is from S. Illinois. The Barn is from SW. Indiana. The Silos are also from SW. Indiana, and have Tea, Coffee, Sugar, Flour painted on them. Kind of unique! You can hear it on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1aGLQkUubA

This is a beautiful way to make a memory page--one for the song that touched you and of your travels through Indiana. Beautifully done.

You've illustrated this song so beautifully with your selection of photos, and yes, it's very sad to think that one can make more money by selling their land. Super awareness page Mike!
