About this scrapbook page: |
A little late I know but I wanted to do a page for Earth Day based on NZ. The 3 pics are Milford Sound a wild & beautiful part of Fiordland in the South of the South Island. NZ has amazing bird life as before man arrived there were no natural predators & so they flourished. But of course man came along with rats, stoats & dogs etc as well as hunting & now the birds above are all endangered. The big fella bottom left - the Moa well it's too late for him!

The Moa was hunted out of existance by our Maori. This bird was related to the Emu & Ostrich only twice the size. NZ now works hard at protecting their native bird life especially those on the endangered list. We need to protect our heritage for future generations! All pics from the net. Extractions in Paint.Net. 2 x background Decay Grunge papers by Benthai Creations from DigiDesign Resort. Recycled frames by Fergs from ScrapbookGraphics Studio Girls

Wonderful Mary, just love this page. Your country is amazing. It's sad to think the animals are becoming extinct. The Moa is a little like our ostrich and emu. Thank you for sharing .
