This valley is what we had just driven through in Banff (you can see the highway better on the enlarged photo), before driving right up the side of a mountain using a 'switchback' road. It goes back and forth upon itself to get you up the side, then finally drives around 'the corner' of the mountain to continue up towards Jasper National Park.

I think my son-in-law has just ridden this road on his motorbike. He is riding from Alaska to Patagonia in five months with a group called GlobeBusters. He crossed into USA on Thursday last. Beautiful, beautiful LO breathtaking.
