Margaretha Zelle was born in the Netherlands(1876-1917).She married Dutch Colonial Army officer. They moved to Java in the Dutch East Indies.For months,she studied the Indonesian traditions intensively, joining a local dance company.In 1897 she revealed her artistic name:Mata Hari ("eye of the day").After moving back to the Netherlands,the couple divorced in 1903.Paris.She’s a liar and posed as a Java princess of priestly Hindu birth (!)... Mata Hari was also a successful courtesan.During World War I,the Netherlands remained neutral.As a Dutch subject,Margaretha was thus able to cross national borders freely.She became double agent (Germany code-named H-21 and France).She was arrested by France and was executed by firing squad on 1917.Rumors could start now.
