Sorry! I'm getting too wordy for the comment box! LOL! Anyhow, put the pic on the far left edge so it looks like she's "walking" off the page. Or possibly put her in a World's Best Mom Trophy. The possibilities are endless, just make sure your focus is the pic, not the embellishements, and that the words are readable. You have a great start here! :)

What a nice pic! The sentiment in the journaling is wonderful too. I think the background is too busy for the pics. Also, the colors do not complement the pic. I like how the pic sits directly on the box...kinda makes her look like she's popping out of it rather than floating above it as in the other page. I do notice that the arm is cropped off. You may want to try sliding the pic to the left.

I like the background. I would take the pink box away, maybe move mom down in the corner and make her bigger, make the flowers and the text a soild color, as not to take away from the photo.

I enjoyed viewing both of them. There are certain elements that I like on each. I agree with Suetta that the pink block does take away from the photo. Instead of the eye being drawn to the photo it is drawn to the pink block. Overall very nicely done
