My husband has been a volunteer firefighter for over 20years and currently holds the position of 2nd Assistant Chief. Recently he and 4 other firefighters from his company were honored by our town for rescuing an elderly couple and their 2 dogs from their burning home. They were first on the scene and entered the building with no protective equipment or breathing apparatus.
