About this scrapbook page: |
Created for two challenges - "Challenging times with children," and "January Special Needs." My stepson, Keith, was diagnosed with bipolar disorder over a year ago, and despite all of our love, support, and encouragement, he refuses to take his prescription medications. His resulting psychotic episodes nearly broke our family apart.

I'm so sorry that you have had to go thru this, my son was also bipolar, we did not discover it until he was a thiry year old man, we just thought thru all the younger years that boys will be boys and dealt with it. It is really hard. But in his older years things happened and not good things, until he was put into a hospital and that is when we discovered that he was bipolar. Great Page.

Erie Scrapper says:
I pray that 2008 will be better for him. I wish that he could see the meds as a lifeline to hold onto... I have had many people in my circle of family/friends with this disorder; as they've gotten older, it seems easier to accept the fact that this is chemical issue that they can not control. But, when you are young, it's just so hard. Denial can be the strongest of emotions!
