Betty's marriage to George was short-lived, and Sundown Town remained in business for only a couple of summer seasons. The property was bought and sold many times over the years, and is now owned by a family. Betty and George have both passed away, but Buster Keaton's son is still alive and well, and has been instrumental in the research for my novel.

When my grandmother passed away in 2004, we came across a treasure trove of documents and photos about her time in Reno, NV. At the time, she had left her children (who were all quite young) and disappeared for several years. We learned, after many months of intense research, that she had been in business with George Carrell (whom she was married to for awhile) and the son of Buster Keaton.
