Moe was rescued as a kitten, and I adopted him in 1997. He is now 11 years old, and is clearly devoted to me. I suffer from diabetes and a chronic pain syndrome, and Moe is always right beside me, lending his warmth and his gentle purring. He is more than a pet - he is a member of our family.
