About this scrapbook page: |
During the New Year celebrations, elders give children ‘ lucky money’ . The custom arose from the belief that children were easily susceptible to harm and the money, would protect them from evil spirits.

beautiful legend, wanwan, and a living tradition that's practiced even here in the Philippines. here, even adults get them, most call them "ampao" - like my boss, who is half chinese, gives all of us every New Year. but, i didn't know the legend behind it, now i know. love your layout with a very appropriate oriental feel. excellent job!
